• Question for those with White-Face gauges

I found this white face reverse-glow gauge face on ebay:

Do any of you guys have this? Did you go with the digital inverter or with the analog one? Any recommendations? I'm trying to decide if the digital unit is worth the extra $16.

I'd love to see pics of your white face gauge setups too...

i have those gauges w/ the analog converter...the digital one is not worth it in my opinion. they are fine, but you can hear a little high pitched wine. nothing highway speed or the radio can't take care of. i like them alright, however it bothers me that the battery voltage goes to 160...duh!

here's the only pic i have of the interior.

I also have these. Mine are digital but different in that they only glow blue. The only downside I've found is that I have to manually switch them on after flipping up the lights. I have yet to find a way to have it turn on auto and the seller suggested not to try it as it would damage it or some such.

Ill tell you how you can wire them to turn on with your headlights. All you have to do is find an illumination wire either behind the instrument panel or behind the radio. Im not really sure what the color code would be on the illumination wires but im sure you could find a wiring diagram somewhere and if you cant I can find out at work if need be. Then all you have to do is power the guages off the illumination wire and set the guages like you want and just leave the manual switch on all the time and they should come on whenever the lights are on.

I tried. But the on/off switch is this little key pad kind of thing. I also tried connecting both wires that lead to the pad thinking the pad worked much like a toggle switch in that the circuit remains unconnected until you flip it. That also did not work. I wonder if I purchase a toggle switch and connect the wires to that then flip it and mount it under the dash. Will that work? The glow lights will only switch on when my lights are on so maybe..

Hmm wraith im not sure what to tell ya man. Id have to look at the circuit pattern and see how they have everything wired and powered up. But im sure I could find a way to make come on with illumination.

Once I get around to putting in my alum bezel I'll see if I can get some pics of how the wiring is. Working with plastic in the bitter cold only nets me more broken mounts or plastic tabs.

Thanks for all the answers, guys!

I'm thinking I'll get the one with the analog converter and power it using a relay connected to an illumination wire.

Judging from you guys' pictures, this is gonna look pretty good.
