some times a girls has got to go top less! eheh i love my car so much so i know that this is what she wanted!! she isn't hurt. hockeyman came back over today and we started to fiberglass her up but decided that it's just going to be to long and a pita. so we decided to take it off and call it a day. so tomorrow we are going to bondo it all up nice and smooth, primer her, paint her, and do what ever else we have to do. if i get the paint on tomorrow i think that i sould have all the weather striping and seats in the car and ready to go on tuesday!

this project isn't as hard as i was thinking it was going to be. i say that anyone who has a hard top. not to be scared to so such a thing to your g irl. our cars are made for t tops.

I agree... honestly, I'd choose to do another t-top conversion then to pull the transmission out of my car in the garage.

I don't like to say its "easy" but it is not as hard as you woudl think it is.

I say not easy because me and a few f-body people told a guy it was easy to pull your front sway, and it took him 40 minutes to take if off the front, and after 40 minutes of getting it back on he gave up.

This is at car meets with f-body guys telling him what to do.

btw guys I'll be throwing some t-top converion stuff on ebay soon if you guys are interested.

its like 70% of the stuff you need.

and kristen as for your car, my suggestion get the minor bondo work done, test fit the weatherstriping, adjust from there then paint

catch up on fiberglass stufff later. Or be like me and not catch up on it for a year

also as for the fiberglass work, I was quoted like $170, to clean it up and a little paint on my rough spots. Which I have been tempted to just pay and get done. Instead of doing it myself. But people keep telling me I am just being anal and not to worry about it, it looks fine.

I thought you just did yours. Why would you sell it?

At one point I think I hade enough stuff to do 2 t-top conversions. I sold of the t-tops and a few other parts, made my money back, so hadn't been to proactive on selling the stuff.

Now since my car was unfortuneate enough to be made with the weakest transmission design known to man. I need cash and I don't need this stuff.

Have to dig it out but off the top of my head...

Where and how much is it to get a t top package with everything you need?

Do they leak at all, and do you have to have a portion of the car repainted?

                    Come with good instructions?

                    Thanks
                    *Matt

I only painted the spot around the t-tops. I painted mine black. I used a little touch up paint on the spot I cut.

I can do a write up there are a few online, I can didg up the leaks.

As for getting a full t-top conversion kit. you have to be careful. Some people sell "partial kits" and call them full. Just look up the parts list. They turn up on ebay every now and then, occasionally on message boards.

Later on when I have time I will make a post of everything needed, and some links.

Here is just some crap I have on the net from my conversion.

my kit cost me $350. but them i found a pillar on ebay for like 15 shipped. and i got a head liner and headvisors that are the ebony color. they cost me $100 together. and as for the paint i'm going to touch it up!

here is the direction that i used. they were great, except a few things. i liked this write up the most because with every step there is a pic to go with it.

that's a great write-up. Did you have to perform the "now go change your underwear" step?

Man, I would be so nervous taking a blade to my baby, but this conversion is the S---. My wife is begging me to do it, too.
