My car is red and the front bumper paint is startin to chip a lil bc the place I took it to have it repaired when I had my accident. Anyways, I want a full black paint job. Theres a brand new Maaco near my house, I know they dont have the best reputation but Ive seen alot of nice performace cars in the lot that they finished and they dont look bad. How much can I expect to pay for this? Ive never checked their pricing b4. I dont plan on having the car forever so Im not too worried about it. Anyone have any issues with them or anything?

i believe you can get your car painted for a few hundred bucks from what i remember on their commercials, but remember that you get what you pay for.2003 Chrome Silver Nissan 350z 6 Speed

2001 Bright Rally Red Camaro 3800 M5-----SOLD but missed

i doubt it is that bad but im sure the longevity of the paint is less than that of a more expensive alternative.2003 Chrome Silver Nissan 350z 6 Speed

2001 Bright Rally Red Camaro 3800 M5-----SOLD but missed

Well a full paint job includes the door jams, underbody, and underneath the hood. I wanted to change from red to black a few months ago when I was missing my drivers side. I decided against it for all the extra spots that needed to be painted.95 3.4L
http://www.myspace.com/1277388
http://www.cardomain.com/profile/altspacen
http://groups.myspace.com/camarov6

Changing the color of a car is anything but simple. To do it right you have to dismantle the car and it will cost quite a bit of money. I would never change the color.
Maaco will do a decent job spraying, but their prep work is a joke. (at least the ones in my area)
The cheapy jobs at Maaco use enamel paint... which is garbage, pay more an get their "supreme" or "signature" which at least uses urethane.
If you plan on getting rid of the car soon, why put all this money into a paint job?
If the paint isnt that faded, and all you want fixed is the front bumper... look through the yellow pages, find a few local paint places and check them out, see what they recommend.

Look I asked bc I might be stuck with the car alot longer than I thought. In which case Ill go back to the plans of upgrading all of it still, paint was one of those things. When I said I wouldnt have it forever I meant it, 5 years from now I dont expect to have it.2000 3800 II V6 Firebird
various small mods, bigger stuff later.

Did you actually see these cars that they repainted close up? If you just did a driveby inspection then I would not judge their work by that. Look at their work close up: chances are the finish quality will be poor. 5 years from now a Maaco paint job will probably look crappy too.
If you're looking quick fix for a few hundred dollars have a quality paint shop repaint your front bumper red, then blend it with the other panels. I think you will be happier with the results of a good repaint on your front fascia as opposed to a low-quality job on the entire car.-Eric
2002 Navy Blue Camaro...Striped and Stalled. 35th Anniversary SS wheels
Best ET: 15.384 @ 88.32 on street tires
Project Whitney: Goal, 14.0 1/4 by summer 2008.

What other paint shops do you have in your area. There are some other cheap franchises that do great work for a simila price as maaco.
