  • What Can I Use To Get Rid of Wax Specks? (help)

Ok, well, if you guys were nice enough to click on this topic, try and help me out here:

I have a black Firebird, and the owner before me had it since it was made (99). There are some rock chips/ bug spatter on the front bumper, headlight shield, and some rock chips on the top of the hood. After I wash the car, its hard to see them standing far away, but when you are meticulous like me, and stand right up next to it, they are still visible.

Keep in mind these are TINY rock chips. The reason they are white, Im assuming was because it was waxed over. I took a tooth pick to some on the hood and it wipes it off, but others, it won't, almost as if its down to the metal. The front bumper's white specks are almost...stained it looks like.

Is there any kind of liquid or product I could use that would get rid of this **** without damaging the car?

Try using a clay bar, it gets rid of a lot of surface defects.

How long do those things take to work with, and where can I get them?

For wax inside of chips on the car, I use an old "soft bristle" toohbrush.
If they are still white'ish, you may have to get some touchup paint and follow the directions posted here:

I don't know much about the claybar because I have never used one, but Mother's has one that you can find at your local auto parts store.
