  • Removing rear decals question

I currently have a 98 Firebird. Does anyone know a good way to remove the factory lettering that says firebird and that bird in red in the rear center piece. I want to make that lettering gold but don't want the original red lettering there. If anyone has a good way of getting it off let me know

Look/ do search around here under the term "filler" or center filler. Also, LS1.com appearance has some info too.

You have to use very fine / high grit # sandpaper to remove the letters and bird and then buff / even finer grit to get back the shine of the black plastic where you removed the letters/ bird.

Or you could be lazy like me and order a whole new filler panel (you can get it with letters & bird or plain black).
I solemnly swear I am up to no good.
