• Got an RS... Need oppinions on the wheels

I have the Y87 package with Ground Effects and so and so... I was wondering what wheels came stock on that car? I wanted to get some better tires but I'm completely absent minded on wheels and tires. What kind of tires should I look into? I was thinking Goodyears but what size should I be looking for? How big can I go and still fit my stock rims? Are bigger wheels better? What can I get thats relatively inexpensive and a reliable performance tire? I was thinking Eagle F1's but will they fit? Also where can I get a good look at some rims for those wheels?

thanks... sorry if you don't understand but I'm not to knowledgable about tires and their sizes...

On the rs in 97 it was the 5 spokes in either chrome or aluminum, same as the Z's. SS had 17' wheels and the base v6's had the hubcaps.Good Tires would be 245/50/16.Its the Base size on the Zs but they are wide and reliable. bigger size your looking at performance tires and they will be reliable but in any performance tire your traction in wet weather is gonna be less than it would be with a all season tire.

good choice on the car btw

Don't go with good for one years's. If I had the money I would switch mine. Go with a 245.50.16.

if you're going to be track racing it stick with the lighter/easier to spin factory 16" wheels and put a set of drag radials on them..the BF Goodrich ones are farely inexpensive and are supposed to be one of the best..however..if it is just going to be a daily driver or only car..i would NOT recommend drag radials..they will wear out fast and not be too much fun in the rain (like driving in the rain is fun anyway)..i would go with a good set of ultra high performance summer or all season tires like some Yokohamas or Kumhos..the tires i have recently purchased and fell in love with are the Continental ContiExtremeContact..they are awesome..the perfect mix of summer dry road handling and they even kick @ss in the snow..wet traction and tread wear are great as well..however..i'll be switching the rears when i race..so these are my daily driver tires..you could do this as well..buy a set of cheap salad shooters and mount the radials on those..the Continentals are relatively inexpensive (even for my 18" wheels)..and i'll never be buying a different tire
