Clear Corners - 2 questions.

i bought 2 diff pairs of clear corners off ebay for the Camaro. My drivers side corner started leaking and the water that was filled up the lense caused the bulb to over heat and burned the lense up. So i bought another pair, sealed them with clear silicone and drilled holes in the lowest part to allow the water to drain through. U would be surprised to know how often this leaking occurs w/ other camaros. I would seal around the eges (where the plastic is glued together) just to be safe. Just my .02

BTW I bought blue bulbs from autozone. Cant remember wat kind (xenon hyper white or something)for the lenses. It is illegal, but I always keep the amber ones in my car lol in case i get pulled over. The bulbs shine white and the blue really looks good in the lenses!

I went thru 5 pairs of clears. The 3rd pair actually warped on the bottom of the housing!!! and on top of that the top part was very wavy. The otherside, it actually burned up and dried to a crisp and collapsed as soon as I tried to unscrew the socket. So they get VERY hot. My sockets for the bulbs are starting to flake in pieces as well. I cut off a pair of sockets from the junk yard and if it decays any further I will have to splice them in.

Now I KNOW that ALL my leaking problems stems from the socket opening of the lens. I put a thin coat of silicone where the washer meets the housing. After I screwed on the socket, I put silicon all around the socket perimeter so even when the housing warps a bit, the silicon will stretch with it. Now I spray water directly at my clears and I get zero leakage. Had it in there since July. Still same bulb with no leaks.
