  • To trim or not to trim?

This is the next step in my Pewter Bird's transformation: silver trim on the interior. I want it to look like this:

Just wondered what you guys think about this new look. I'm thinking that must be "synthetic brushed aluminum", right?

That carpeting on the dash is one of the ugliest things I've ever seen in an F-body..

I know that's not what the focus is on in this thread..but that looks horrible.

Anyway, I don't think that picture is brushed alluminum. That is just painted silver.

For Brushed alluminum. You have to go to MBA

This might be the place to get that trim, although I noticed the door handle trim is not part of this package. http://www.wooddashfactory.com/pages...tno=DD-6945.02

But there are 3 somewhat similar silvers at that site, so i don't know which one would be right.
There's synthetic silver mist, synthetic brushed aluminum, and real silver carbon fiber. Hence my confusion.

Ok, now I found this place:
                  http://www.sherwooddash.com/
They seem to have the door trim and the whole deal, but it says it is for a 97-99 Firebird. Mine is a 2000, and I wonder if this would be a problem. Does anybody have experience with that kind of thing who could tell me if the 99 kit would fit a 2k?
I feel like the silver touch inside would really complement the exterior silver and black scheme nicely.

I'm with dominic... I wouldn't do it. Makes the car look cheap in my opinion, and depending on what you do, it sometimes can look downright trashy. No offense to any of the cars with painted interiors. This is just my opinion on a former painted interior guy. It gets old after a while, and when you decide you don't like it anymore it's pretty hard getting all that paint off. And if you can't, your going to be buying all new panels. I'd stick to small stuff, and leave anything like the dash alone.

BadBird, how much did the trim kit cost you? I cant find pricing w/o placing the order. you got it through sherwooddash.com?

Very nice! It's not the stuff from sherwooddash.com, though, because it has the silver along the bottom of the door around the front speakers, right? or is that some other kit?
