I just got my clears in last night and installed them today, very happy with them. One question tho, i've read that the drl's heat up the bulb so much that it can melt my clear corners??? will this happen with the clears i got from Pro car parts?
i just put some on too. This is the first i have heard of this so i wouldn't beleive it. The clears look so much better on my white car, very clean.

yes that happens. All the people w/newer maros can understand this. It happened to me - twice. My drivers side bulb got so hot and melted the seal andsome of the inside of the corner so then the bulb was just lying in the corner not attached to anything and really burnted the inside up! my bulbs were too hot. So i bought another pair and diff bulbs and tested them out to see if they got super hot again. (wrap your hand around them while the running light is on.)
anyways the second pair leaked and had water in it so I took it out sealed the edges (where the plastic meets) with silicone and drilled holes in the bottom lowest part of the clear corner... and now finally everything is perfect!
yup, depends on the brand you buy I think. and the wattage of bulbs. I've got a hole the size of a golf ball in my drivers side one, almost works as a hood light when you have them on and open the hood. good luck with yours ;)
hey nikon. Very nice car. Wat type of high beam bulbs did u use to get that blue hue effect on your car? I want mine to do that but im not sure wat kind to buy. I bought some APC ones but i guess they were too clear and i didnt get that effect. I know they are 9005 bulbs.
eh, just some cheapos I think. dont remember exactly, I know all I could read on the package was 9005, the rest was in japanese. and thanks for the compliment. ;)

This was with stock bulbs... these are the stock style clear corner lenses, not the diamond cut style clear corners.
These belonged to a friend of mine... they were on the car less than a year. When I purchased mine, I disabled my DRL's and have been running my clears for over 4 years without a problem.

One of the 5 sets i've used up so far even warped the bottom of the lens and created a little hole. On the top it warped so much I was unable to unscrew the socket out. I had to force it but it wasn't too hard since it became all brittle. I had the original stock orange ones back on last yr for a whole yr. Then it started getting moisture in there like the a/m ones. I took it out and when I looked in there, there were some black debris for some reason. I took it and rinse it out with water, then the reflective coating starting sliding off!!!!!!!! My 3rd set I sprayed 409 in there and the chrome coating came off too!! and yes, the stock ones got warped a little.
I guess I do long periods of driving. But my current set I am using silverstars and I siliconed up the socket area(main problem area). No problems for half a yr. And I can spray water directly at the lens and NOTHING, nice and waterproof.
I don't want to disable the drl, it looks so pretty
I'll just buy a new set every yr or two if I have to

they should all be the same wattage but some are notorious for heating up so much that it really does melt your corner like the above (wat happened to me the first time) The 3157's Silverstar makes are a very good quality bulb. They are around 20 bucks but i can promise u they wont go out or get hella hot.
