painting interior center console

did anyone paint their center console? I would but i have no idea how to get it off... the shifter is in the way. i think it would look really cool if i could paint it, it would be the last piece and i'll get some pictures up.

What year is your car and is it an A4 or M6/M5?

If you're an A4 drop it back into 1st gear, there's a little pin on the front side of the shifter you need to pull out with pliers. Then there are two screws under the coin tray inside the console box. The coin tray should slide right up to get to the screws. Also, once it's loose, there are two wires; One is connected to the cigarette lighter, and another is located underneath the shift numbers/letters. Hope that helps if you're A4. I did mine and it looks pretty cool.

ya, i was wantin to do the same thing to my center console. someone told me how to get it all off, but im just too lazy to go buy more paint since i used it all on what i did paint so far. oh well... guess i just need to get my lazy a$$ up and do it.
