  • Raptor or WS6 hood

I have a lot lined up for 02 silver firebird and one of them is a new hood. I don't mind it as is but I see the ws6 and raptor hoods and I can't help but turn my head towards them. I was originally leaning towards the ws6 hood but now seeing it more and more I kinda like the raptor hood a little more. Only thing is I usually see them only on dark color birds like the blue metallic or black. I didn't know if it would look good on silver.

Anyhow I'm looking for your opinions on what you think. Raptor or ws6? Thanks guys and gals

    I like the raptor hood

My Sergeant has a Silver 2000 T/A and he installed a WS6 hood on it, although I tried to talk him into the raptor hood. He saw another silver T/A with the raptor hood, and he now regrets putting the WS6 hood on his.

Even on a lighter color like silver? tried finding a firehawk or something in silver that hood the hood but couldn't find one

        Edit:
Makes me lean more towards the raptor hood even more. I don't want regrets lol

A few years back I would've also said Raptor/Firehawk style because I didn't like that horizontal split in the opening of the WS6.
But I love it now and think it looks damn good. The raptor is softer/subtle looking it's so much more rounded. While the Ws6 is so much more defined. It also has another bezel like piece on the leading edge of the nostril giving it more detail. If I was gonna get a hood, I might as well get one that people will see it's WITHOUT a doubt a Ram Air hood. The raptor is kind of like it's between stock and Ws6, well more like 75% of the way there. IMHO.

Look at some of these pics that were posted recently:

Too many Ram Air hoods, not enough raptor...
Either way, both hoods are naughty...
                      I'd say go raptor

AS much as I like the Ws6 hood, I think I like it more with the design of the trans am body. Putting it on a firebird itself doesn't have the same effect. As with the Raptor hood which is on firehawks already have the same body style.

you guys have it all wrong, if you are looking for something that flows with the lines of your V6 Firebird, you cant get a ws6 hood. That hood looks great IMO, BUT! ONLY when on a transam/firehawk, because of the bumper. lookat all those trans ams, yeah the hood looks killer, a raptor doesnt go well with them, but thats because the bumper is different, if you look at the bumper and the hood and the rest of your firebird as a whole, you will see that a raptor (or firehawk, which is much rarer) hood flows MUCH better with the lines.

I have a fiberglass superhawk hood. but i have heard that US Exotics stopped making them, so I guess i have a rare hood now, but the raptor is close enough i guess, just lacks the heat extractors and some minor aspects.

I also like the stock hood, it works well also, dont change things JUST because u can, I like the stock hood just as much as any other hoods, but I wanted to change and My stocker hood got smashed up.

If you dont like the split to where the nostrils are in quadrant sections, but you like how the hood is higher than the Raptor one, just get the SLP H.O Hood.
