I did a search and found a thead on this topic, but didn't answer one of my questions.
I have a 1997 Chevrolet Camaro 3800. I want to do a gauge cluster swap from the V6 to the V8 dash cluster. However, I've noticed a few differences and wondered if anyone has done this and if these are really any concern.
1. Will the speedometer be off? I know the tach will from reading the other thread, but what about the speedo? Also, can the tach inaccuracy be corrected?
2. Oil pressure gauge in the 3800 car has different readings than the V8 powered cars. How does this affect my pressure readings since the middle of the 3800 oil pressure gauge is around 425, while it's only like 250 on the V8?
3. Mileage reading. Will my odometer be same as what it shows now, or is the odometer reading stored in the cluster itself?
4. Are there any other differences in terms of idiot lights and whatnot?
Any insight into this would be greatly appreciated. I've always loved the look of the 150 MPH speedo, and want to put one in my beast. :D
