  • Hey, it's picture day, here's my stripes.

Well, once again, I've got some more pics to put up. And once again, things haven't come easy. For those of you who talk to me regularly, you know that I'm not too happy with my paint job. But I decided to post them anyway.
Here's my stripes, lemme know whatcha think of them.

Again, I'll try to get some better pics later on, but these will do for now. Lemme know what ya think, and hit my site up for some more pics.

Looks like mine except different colors. Are yours painted? Why are you not too happy with your paint job? It looks nice from what I can see. I'm going to finish off the stripes below the grille, you should too. It looks better that way.

Thanks for the compliments. I don't really like the way they stop on the nose either. The shop that painted it didn't communicate well with me, so they didn't round the stripes the way I wanted them to (1" radius). Yeah, everything is painted. I had them do other stuff on the car too. And it came back looking worse than it did before I got it painted, so now, I'm looking to get into a lawsuit with them. There's runs in several places, and where there aren't runs, its covered with orange peel. The stripes are rough. He said "They will be smooth as glass", I didn't know he meant 200 year old glass. The clear coat is chipping off of the roof, there is a bubble under the paint, a little bigger than a quarter, on the door. They sanded paint off of the spoiler. They fixed a scratch, and I can still see it. The fixed a dent and it cracked back out, so they fixed it again, and now there are sanding marks in the paint, looks like 60 grit. I got a chip in the stripe on the hood, and it chipped the black off, down to the orange. When you look at it, it doesn't look like they even sanded the hood before painting the stripes on. I can go on, but I'll stop there. I'm going to have an estimate done at a Dealership, to have them fix the things that the bodyshop did wrong, then, I guess, file a civil suit, or try to get them to settle.

Nope, wasn't Maaco, it was supposed to be a reputable shop in town. Apartently, I was misinformed. Several people told me that they were satisfied with their vehicles from this place. Oh well, I guess it's off to the dealership before Friday. I'm gonna have it estimated, and then take them the bill. From there, I'm gonna tell him that I want my money back. If he says no, then I'm going to get in my car without a single response, and I'm going to the courthouse to file. $60 fee, but still.
Yeah, looking back and photoshopping the pics, white looks great, but I'd still rather have it stripeless now. Heck, if I win the case, I may have them removed. Still though, I'm gonna have the estimate be honest. Just the things they messed up. I'm hoping that the dealer can prove that the car wasn't prepped for paint though, cause that's how it's looking. This paint job is less that 4 months old

Well, I just got back from the Dealership. Had an estimate done. $1323.52 to fix the things that the other body shop did wrong. They charged me $1050.00 to paint it the first time. I think it's justified. The had my car a total of over 1 month, and couldn't address my complaints. I found another spot that I forgot to mention. On the passenger side rear quarter panel, I had a serious scratch, to the metal. Well, it doesn't even look like they sanded that either, just sprayed right over it. You can still see the scrath through the orangepeel paint. Grrr. It's to the courthouse Friday I guess.
