  • what's good for polishing?

i've been using the finger wrapped sandpaper method. is there a dremel bit that would work on this but make very fine cuts? i've been using a fine sander bit on some of the tougher things, but then i have to go back and get out all the scratches. the paint stripper i found only takes the clearcoat off and kind of works on the paint, but doesn't get it all. i think i'm going to go hunting for something stronger.

after about 4 hours, this is all i have. it's a huge difference. i'm going to paint the inside portion shiny black like the 35th SS wheels. i don't think any tool could get inside those crevices.

it's a huge difference. why did GM have to paint these wheels? :(

hmm.. go to home depot and get some of the nastyest smelling stripper you can find..

take the wheels off and just soke them in it..

look at dremmel bits too.. i am sure one of the sand paper rolls will fit your need.. also pick up a buffing attachment too..

after you get all of that stuff off and painted.. i would get them profesionaly reconditiond with clear coat.. then they will last forever and be 100X easyer to keep clean..

    keep up the good work...

Don't know why GM paint's over such a nice shine?!?! They're a bunch o' buttheads, especially since giving the f-body the axe. I had a 98 GSXR-1100, and I put some paint stripper on the rims, then took some 000 steelwool to them. Used at the same time, the two together are very effective. WEAR GLOVES, and use in a WELL venilated area! I did my task a in the beginning of january, in a closed garage, with the heat on. I'm surprised I'm still here! I was feelin' mighty fine that day.
