Their are two kinds of paints my body shop uses. Omni and Global, Global is the best and is more expensive. The omni is alright and is more cost efficient. If you went with a pearl it would be a little more money because you'd have to put a coat of pearl under it. You'd basically be using more materials. Every car is sort of different, you might need a few repairs or dents. With all the labor involved. I'd say around $4000-$6000. You should ask around and find the best body shop around your area. Your thinking somewhere along the lines of the color i want to get my car repainted. Although I have some other things i'm going to do that no one has ever seen before. Good luck

and that is also depending on the color too, i believe white is the cheapest, so that might only be a couple hunder (labor included) like maybe 400 or soWhite 1992 3.1L V6 firebird
Here she is
----------------------------------

Like I said, you can get a job done in the cheap omni paint, just get them to scuff it down and shoot it the same color you might get it from 1-2 grand. If I was a regular customer and went to my body shop and said I want the whole complete color changed on my car, in the best paint they have. They would charge around 4-6k. Depending on what you do you can make your estimate low, or it'll be around what I said. In my mind if i'm getting a paint job I wouldn't want nothing less than perfect. If they get overspray on the paint or really butcher it up or it chips do you want to go back and them charge you another $700? to do it again. Make sure if you do, ask them about what warranty they have on the paint. I don't know what too many other shops charge, just where I work at. Because we offer a full life time warranty on all our work. I don't know, if your looking for some economy paint job I guess I can't help you out. Good luck

If you're talking about stripping the ENTIRE car (doorsills, underside of the hood, trunk well, etc...) then around 4k is right. Remember, the cost is going to come from the labor here.
If you have the tools you could always try sandblasting your car and priming it. ;)
Or you could just get the Macco Presidential treatment. :rolleyes:Sinister Six
Cardomain
--This doesn\'t change the fact that I am ~The Guru~ who still kicks puppies...

Oh man please. Don't waste your money on maaco. They use the horriblest cheapest paint. They don't do hardly no prep work at all. Your car will probably start peeling in no time. On top of that they'll probably get over spray everywhere. You get what you pay for!!!

Mine costed $ 2,800 to paint the whole car black , put a new front cap on and rear bumper , and take out all the dents. My car looks like it came off the show room floor.

I got my car repainted with some dent/metal work done along with bodykit put on and painted. It ended up costing 2800 after all said and done. In my opinion it wasn't the greatest job done, but you have to know what your looking for to see any imperfections.

This is my first post here...
I have tons of questions!
But first I really want to have my car painted.
Some on said something about "maaco"
I don’t have $1000 - $2000 to spend and "maaco"
Said they would do it for $800 - $900 and warranty it for 5 years.
Has any only used them or are they just a waist of time and money>??
Thank you,
Graham

Well, if you have to, then have them paint the car for you. I have seen paintjobs by them, and they look like crap! I don't care what Burt Reynolds says! Even after getting the car back and seeing all of the messups, they will fight tooth-n-nail to fix the problem(s) they created. I have seen about 5 cars painted by them, and personally knew the car owners too, none of them were happy.

maaco = crap
I second that one.. well!
i ran accross an interesting theory a while back in my porsche days..
A GOOOOD patint job can easaly run you 3-5 k...
maaco al cheepo paint is a few hundered dollers..
now.. if you think about how long you want to own / drive the car.. and what its is worth to you.. a few maaco jobs dosent seem all that bad vs one really nice paint job..
jsut some food for thought..
