I saw this on LS1.com and thought it looked pretty good. These are chrome inserts they bought for $60. I have also seen one other bird with these painted and am thinking about doing it to. Does anyone else have theirs painted? If so please post some pics.
Thanks :D

Mine are now a very shiny metalic silver that looks identical to the ones people are paying $60 for. Being as I have tried several colors I wasnt about to spend that kind of money on such a little thing.
Here's a pic of my side vets during the short period that they were red.

Well I changed the colors from red because I went a little over board with it. I had the front bird in red, the side in red, the calipers in red, all 6 grills in red, the rear PONTIAC in red, my headrest embroidered in red, the shift boot in red and the interior trim in red, luckily those parts were interchangeable with the parts in my Firebird. Out of all the color schemes that Ive tried, and believe me Ive tried all the popular ones, red is my second favorit but now I my car has a more subtle look to it, ha ha if thats possible with a WS6.
The rear filler is silver, the PONTIAC is silver, the front bird is sivler, the side emblems are silver, the side grills are a shiny silver that looks exactly like the ones in the above pic (I know longer use the hood grills because of the BG Ram air kit), and the interior is back to the way it came. My calipers are now glossy black with brushed Chrome Trans Am decals.
Pewter2k Formula: I dont have pics of how my car looks now but I know you wouldnt like them since I read you dont like black calipers. They arent flashy like yellow or red but IMO they look great. Too bright of colors take away from the black. Black to me has always had a bit of a classy look but with everything that I did to my car it seemed to lose that.
All in all I think that right now my car looks awesome and that I the decals and painting that I did was done tasetfuly.
I'll take some pics of my car next week after I get home and make up for the month Ive been gone.

Hmmm...you think I should paint the vents in Chrome or the same color as the car..or black like they are now but Gloss? I'm undecided about my calipers too :( Tomorrow I'm going to paint them again but Pewter Metallic although my boyfriend thinks red would look better. Only thing is that if I do it red then it'll be the only thing on the car thats red.
My stripes/bird are being made and they are Metallic Black and Dark Charcoal so my whole color scheme is black/pewter/charcoal
What's everyone's opinion?? Also should I go with Pewter for my engine bay colors...wire looms...etc????
Also Trans Am WS6 RGS....I would still very much like to see new pics of your car...with the black calipers. I just think for my car that the black doesnt look good. I only have 16" wheels and there's not alot of space showing. Please take some new pics!!!
Well, seeing as that trans am up thier is pewter, I think the chrome would look best. Red vents might not look right on pewter IMO. A glossy black might not show up enough to make it worth doing. I'd go for the chrome, I wish my bird had the side vents like that, I think chrome would look pretty good on a red bird....no yellow, that would look cool.

Then: 1997 3.8L Red Firebird~SOLD!~<p>Now: 2002 Atlantic Blue Dodge Ram 1500
I only meant painting the calipers red not the vents. I think I'm going to paint the calipers Pewter...still not sure but I'm getting ready to paint them this morning. I might just paint the vents chrome soon too.
I thought about blue but couldn't find a shade I liked in the store. So now the calipers are red...have one more coat left and all of them are done  ...finally.
Hey everyone! I've been trying to remove my transmission for two days now! I need to replace the clutch. Only thing I've got left holding the transmission...
Hello, so I changed the front bearings on the bird and the ABS inoperative light came on. I made a mistake of not removing negative battery cable. Now...
I usually have to double, triple my headlight switch for them to come up on my 97 Firebird. I cleaned all connections. Could it be the headlight switch...
