Ya, hood is fine, spoiler is stretching it IMHO, cause there's lots of other spoilers you could get instead. Decals though, I'll hafta come kick your *** personally (j/k). But still, no decals, even if you do drop a V8 in it. In that case, just get a sticker that says Camaro V8 or somethin that says you have a V8, but not a Z28/SS.

No SS decals damnit! no!
The way I see it, the SS is only an appearance package (that's all it really is, and thats all it was back in the first and second gens), so there is nothing wrong with hyping your cam up with all the goodies but unless it came from the factory, no badging. If you drop a v8 in it and ss suspension as well as any other things that are v8 stock then i would say put the ss decals on it. You've got the same power and everything else so why not.1995 Pontiac Firebird 3.4L <br />TA front bumper, TA rear bumper, 98-02 Honeycomb tailights, GM Ram Air hood, 2k C5 18X9.5 Corvette rims all the way around, custom autoloc shaved handles, camaro two tone interior, silver badging, clear front marker lenses, RK sport headers, gutted cat, dynomax dual exhaust, Rear disc rearend, Richmond 3.73 gears, Zexel torsen LSD, Cross drilled front rotors, 2 12\" MTX thunder 8000s, Clarion 400W amp, MTX 5 1/4 <br />Components, thunder 4262 amp, pioneer head unit, Hypertech power programmer (Yes it does exist)

Something that I even considered doing wouldn't be too bad, and that is going with a badge like this:
"RS/SS" You could get an RS/SS back in the day as both packages were combined. It'd more innovative than ricey Id think.
Hell it's your car, but just dont put SS emblems on it.2002 Camaro SS 6 Spd<br />Sebring Silver Metallic<br />Still breaking it in<p>Traded in - 2002 V6 5 Spd Camaro.<p>\"I\'ll never trust squirrels again.\"

First, if you drop a V8 in your car, you don't have to report it--your insurance won't be affected. As long as your VIN# reports you having a V6, that's all you'll have to worry about on insurance.
Second, SS is more then appearance package. It has enough extra performance to give it ~15 extra horses, as well as better suspension.Kyle M<br />--------------<br /><a href=\"http://grdws6.netfirms.com\" target=\"_blank\">2002 Trans Am WS6</a> (silver, A4) - lid, cutout, stage 3 shift kit, 12 bolt, vig 3200, tranny cooler, bmr sfc/stb, torq thrust ii. <b>12.688 @ 106.47mph -=- 1.756 60\'</b>

THE SS IS NOT JUST AN APPEARENCE PACKAGE! Darnit, don't you all read the SLP boards?!?
The SS is other upgraded stuff, wheels, tires, hood / box, spoiler....
and can be:
rear diff, interior badging, tons of accessories.
From SLP Standard:
325 horsepower V8 engine (approximately 09-01-01, the new-for-2002 optional SLP Performance Package will boost powertrain output by 20 hp, for 345 total hp*, 335 hp is also available as an SLP option)
Composite hood with functional air scoop
SS specific rear deck spoiler
Forced-air induction system
Dual outlet exhaust system
Special High Performance Ride & Handling Suspension
17"x 9" lightweight, aluminum painted wheels
275/40/ZR17 Goodyear Eagle F1 tires
Zexel-Torsen Differential
Power Steering Cooler
Camaro SS exterior graphics
From SLP OPtional:
Grill, wheels, tires, exhausts x 2, bilsteins, other shocks, deck mat, 1le, cover, fobs,
Bottom line, DO NOT PUT THE DECALS ON. You will regret it every day after you do. It's the dumbest thing to possibly do to the car, especially when you can't beat a single thing on the road as a V6-SS. LOL ... Don't do it. please. Your V6 is nowhere near a SS.

The way I see it, you'll surprise more people if you have a V8 and DON'T have SS or Z28 emblems. It's like having a wolf in sheeps clothing.

KYB Gas-A-Just shocks

Coming Soon: RAM clutch (60% more holding power), SLP CAI, Pacesetter headers, Dual exhaust (not sure what brand yet)

True. As far as getting a quote, making payments, etc, all insurance is concerned with is you are not reporting something LOWER than what the VIN states.
However, if you have an accident, they will send an adjuster to review the accident and damage. Part of that investigation includes confirming that you have what is reported on the insurance coverage. They will deny it on the basis that you have misled them.
So, yes, you can get away with paying lower insurance because your VIN will show it as a 6 cylinder. Get an accident and your claim will be denied.1998 Arctic White Firebird
