  • Replacing Steering Wheel?

Has anybody changed out their steering wheel? I really don't like the stock wheel... it's ugly, thin, feels cheap, and it kind of big. I want something slightly smaller and thicker with a 2- or 3-spoke design, preferably leather, suede, or fake suede, and I'd really like to keep my airbag. I've never taken a steering wheel off, so I don't really know how it goes, but will stock wheels from other cars work with it?

i think the stock steering wheel isnt that bad but yah a bit big. I helped my dad take off a 5.0 bird wheel a few years back but i completely forgot how, it does take a while thoh. my plan thoh is just to change the whole steering column and get one of those detachable ones.

im guessing other ones wont work cuz the pins and stuff wont line up. corrections are welcome.

Mine is starting to, which is another reason I hate the material it's made of... the stock shift knob felt equally crappy, but was a lot easier to replace with a leather piece.

My steering wheel is cracking at the top too. I have seen atleast one thread about replacing our wheel with a leather T/A wheel to cure the cracking issue.

As far as any other steering wheel I'm not sure what might fit. Just be aware that it is illegal to replace a steering wheel with an intact airbag with a wheel that doesn't have one (i.e. most aftermarket wheels).
