front bumper cleaning q's

i searched and didnt seem to find someone with my problem.

its like there are permanent water spots on my front bumper and i cant get rid of them ive tried scratch remover, bug and tar remover, adhesive remover, clay barring waxing and scrubbing with deoxideizer. its hasnt got worse but it hasnt got better either. so if any of you guys have suggestions that would be awsome cause i dont want to have to repaint the bumper.

ok digi is broken, any body got any suggestiosn as to cleaning products that might clear up my problem. its like there is something embeded in the paint and you cant feel it.

mine has a barely noticable bird sh*t mark on the front from about 3 years ago when i was gone and couldnt clean it. it has a texture and a greyish tint to it mixed in with my red paint. I figured claybarring would have done it.

Could it actually be a problem with your paint, not actually something that will clean off?

granted the car is 4 years old but i ahve never neglected the paint its weird its just happend in the last year. i realy wish my camera was working so you could see what im talking about. its not jsut in one spot its all over the bupmer like chips in the paint but thats not waht it is. thats just what it looks like. would a polish take any of it out or just make it worse or do nothing?

I think I know what marks you are talking about, I've got a black car too, and they show up when the sun hits it just right. Those spots are hard to get rid of, but I've used Meguiar's swirl remover (#9) to get them out. That stuff works well because the 'cutting power' breaks down as you rub it. If your etched marks are deeper than that, you could try some 2000 or grit wet/dry sandpaper. Only do enough to remove the mark, don't go through the clear coat! Buff that out with the swirl remover, and put wax on. Good luck.....

i also have some very faint hard water spots still on my car from when i lived in the desert. I have a bright red car and it is barely noticable in the center of the hood. Anyway, someone once told me that putting lemon juice in water and washing it will get the hard water marks off. I never tried it because i dont know first hand if acid+paint=good so check it out more before trying that.

so would using dish soap get this stuff off of the front instead of using a polish or a wet sand. also could i use something that gets rid of lime deposits cause im starting to wonder if thas what it is

If the marks are really etchings from bird crap or acid rain or whatever, then the clear coat is actually damaged and no washing or claybarring is going to get rid of them. You'll just end up with nice clean etched clearcoat. You mentioned that you already tried a bunch of stuff to remove dirt that might be sitting on top of the clear.

If you do need to buff, an orbital buffer might be useful to pick up if you don't already have one. Good results with that and the swirl remover. I did my whole car a couple weeks ago in about an hour! If you need to buff just the front end, take your time and go slow, but I think you'd be able to fix it up in about 30 min.
