Well guys, I finally did it. 10 hours of work, $300 in parts, and a lot of elbow grease.... I now have true HIDs on my car.
They're Osram Ds2 bulbs with Valeo ballasts. Mounting them was.. uhm.. interesting. I'll have pics and maybe a quick write-up (if anyone is interested) later on tonight. I still need to paint and adjust the lights.
IMO they came out awesome... sooooooo bright.

You had to cut a little bit of the plastic bumper area and you also had to remove the blakc headlight shroud.
Hmmm....
That I did.. that I did. Today I'm fabricating a shroud for it, we'll see how that goes. Pics will be posted tonight.
I'm also going to be buying either highs or low beams (halogen/stock) and hooking them up too. Not sure if the lows would make it look nicer, or the highs would even add any light to it.

Cool... I think i would have put the lights on the outside headlights instead of the inner ones to open up the stance a little bit but good job,
not too often you see HID's unless its a BMW or whatnot ;)
man I was gonna say 10 hours!!! it only took me 10 minutes in the camaro, you couldnt have used the stock bulb housing??? looks kinda cool, but kinda wierd too with the little projector thing sticking out, but Ive never liked the pop-up headlights either, so I guess you did a good job ;)

I could have just put bulbs in stock housing, but then it wouldn't be true HID, and I would have to make a cutout. I made a housing for the projector, and now it doesn't look too bad at all.. actually the foam is drying now... going to sand and paint, then I'll post more pics.

check that vid out. a russian guy edited it, so dont mind the techno in the background
looks like he just put the bulb in the firebird housing.. which doesn't provide as well as light, and you can't really use a cutout (notice how the light is EVERYWHERE and not just concentrated). Also, there isn't enough space where it's mounted for projectors. I think mounting it like that is illegal as well, since it's blinding to anyone in front w/o a cutoff.
