I had the same problem ,it's an easy fix.
The light houseing is actualy a reworked gm housing but the mounting bracket is a replica .
Just take the stock mounting bracket off your stock lights and put it on the halos.

i just put halos on my camaro a couple weeks ago, and they dont seem to fit right. Although my stock ones didnt really fit that good either. No one has said anything to me about it, and they look fine. You have to force it in place, and they should be fine.

Here's a hint for new installs. Before you put them in, place them next to the old lights that you removed and adjust the screws to them same length as on those. I did this and I had to do ZERO adjustments after installing!! TaaDaa!!!

My thanks to the forum for making me think this one through BEFORE doing the job..

It looks like I can see the black rubber sticking way out at the top of your pics, meaning they are adjust way too low. Are you sure that they are installed correctly? If you still have your old lights, just adjust the screws to the same lengths. If they are installed right, that will make them adjusted just like before.

no, i'm not sure if they're adjusted correctly, which is why the topic is called..."having trouble adjusting black halos" but i guess tomorow, when it is light out i'll try adjusting them again, and if I can't get it, I'll try swapping out the mounts...if i totally unscrew the headlights from the mounts, I can just swap the mounts with the stock ones? will the halos fit on the stock bracketS?

I didn't say "adjusted correctly", I said installed correctly. If they are in that slot correctly and slid sideways to lock in, then they are installed right. Switching brackets wont help because they are exactly the same. Just adjust the new ones like the old..

well the problem with that is...that i was going to take the headlights out using the adjusting screws...where you need the star tool, and i turned it alot and then decided to take them off the RIGHT way...so i have nothing really to go by bc the others are so messed up now.

Oh. That's too bad. I guess the new brackets are damaged or something if you can't adjust them right.

I got my halos not too long ago as well. Had to switch the mounting brackets. Never had a single problem with them.
