• Lamborghini style doors available.

I asked if anyone made or did custom work to make a lamborghini style door hinge, etc long ago. There seemed to be much interest at the time.

    Check this out...

    http://www.carexcess.com/decah-camero.html

I wrote the company and they said it is a totally custom job that starts around 4k. Wew! But for anyone who has the $ and likes it that much, thought this would be a good FYI post.

    ;)

looks awesome. too bad about the price. that ruins it for almost everyone. i wonder how hard the design would be to copy?

hmmmm, Ive saw instructions somewhere on how to do it. If your crafty with tools and get bored like i do then you could do it for like $400 in parts.

I would feel a little weird buying something from a company that can't spell Camaro. I mean seriously, if you can spell God, you can spell Camaro...they are the same things.

2 grand? for what. Its a hinge, some re worked door mechanics, a gas shock and some little work done with a dremel. I could prob figure out how to do one wihtout any instructions for like $400.

Keep in mind that are doors are heavy and long. I've heard that DIY versions of this wear out shock very quickly. You also have to consider the mounting loccation for the piston, and keep in mind that it would have to seal correctly. If this was easy to do, wouldn't you see more cars with these doors?

www.autothisworld.com has universal kits starting around $1800 i think, and they also have a motorized kit that incorporates the use of actuators... but that ones $2500. still though, the actuators can open your door and colse your door with a button. if $4000 includes installation, than ya, id go for it, but if its what it says and just a kit, id rather buy a universal kit for $2500.
