  • Question on racing stripes

I just bought a set of the 30th anniversary edition racing stripes..so far i have the hood the roof and before the spoiler and top of the spoiler...but when you go over the spoiler and finish on the angled part of the trunk right above the word camaro...how exactly do you get the decal to lay flat on that? I got to put it on and it lays flat but only a little bit of it and the rest i cant get to stay down. any advice would be great

Did you buy your set on ebay? Is it the set with the pre cut hood stripes, but just 2 10 foot sections of stripe for the rest of the car?

How did you go about cutting the stripes to match the curved edge of the spoiler, ect Also, how did you go about measuring how far apart, and how far in from the edges to put the roof and hatch stripes?

I've got a set of these sitting on the bench, I'm just trying to get up the guts to go about putting them on.

      Thanks for the help!

yea i got the set off of ebay..lets see when the spoiler curvers all that you need to do is get a long enough piece from the back of the spoiler to the front and lay that down on the spoiler then take a razor blade and slide it along the spoilers edge cutting off the extra striping..its really quite easy. I ran a piece of string from the front of the bumper all the way to the back and measure from the hood stripes to the string..then once the string was on top of the car just measure the same distance apart.

That part has a strange curve to it, and it's difficult to get the vinyl stripe to lay there without wrinkling. I installed the top part near the rear window first, then I slightly stretched the stripe and laid it on the curve. It still had some wrinkles on it, but the hair dryer took care of that.
