it was easy! all i have left is the cosmetic stuff (bondo the corners and paint the now exposed top). it has taken maybe 11 hours so far! all i can say is you better have a pair of vice grips!
i might tell guys around here that i'll install t-tops in their camaro/firebird for $1,000! there are alot of 'em on base!
if you have the means, i highly recommend it!!!

It's only taken you 11 hours. Did spend that time over two days, or did you do it all in one day. My kit arrives next week.. and so does the headliner. Good to know that the initial work takes so little time. Good job/great time. Did you run into any problems with the first phase.
Let us know..
i took it east and did about 3-4 hours a day over 3 days. i'll probably do the bondo/cosmetics next week. i didn't take any pics other than the first cut pic and a pic after i had cut off the side supports, just because the 3 websites i had studied had so many great pics, i didn't think that anything was left out.
the only problem, and it wasn't much of a problem, was trying to get the gasket to fit over where i had cut the rear of both side pillars. there was still some left over support that was interfereing with the rather thick gasket going on correctly. what i did first was cut a small channel in the gasket so the gasket would fit over the left over support. then when i did the other side, i figured, why not put some cuts in the left over support so i could hammer down flat what was left. so i did and it worked great and i went back and redid the other side!
i didn't even use a sawsall. just my trusty hacksaw! couldn't have done it without my vice grips too!
if someone from this site wanted to archive a step by step process i could probably still do it while the conversion is still fresh in my mind. there should be a page for that since it is getting fairly common to do. you know have a page that links to common mods.
all in all it was fairly easy, i have never before done any body work. if you have any questions let me know!
