  • Lamborghini doors?

I heard a while back that someone makes a kit for 93-02 f-bodies to make the doors swing up like a lamborghini. Anyone ever heard of this. I am serously thinking of doing it. I figured about 2000 a door with some help from a friend who works at a bodyshop. Does anyone make this kit? Does anyone else think this would be a good investment?

I've seen it done on new 'stangs. You use a hydrolic pump. I remember reading that the doors had to be trimed of some extra stuff to be lighter. I think this would be cool, but I think it'd be too costly.

I havent seen it on any 4th gen f bods, and I am pretty sure the door woul dhave to be lightened. Our doors are very heavy and would take a bulky set of hydraulics to get this to work properly.

              *cough*
              rice....

To think that used to be a Camaro. Just the doors opening that way would be unique, but all that other body work is just plain ugly.

I helped a friend do the lambo doors to a mustang... it cost $5000 in fabrication and he has to replace the lifter shocks about twice a year. (the doors are too heavy, and more powerful shocks won't fit in his case)

BTW, those doors don't really open like the lambo doors. The lambo doors go straight up, those look like they're going almost straight out.

I can't really think of anything more rice than that body kit. Except maybe adding an IROC sticker!
