• Suncoast Creations SS Hood

I got a call from the body shop today saying that my hood had come in and that I might wanna take a look at it b4 it went on my car. What a POS The thing not only had chips and cracks on the underside of it but the surface had scratches, nicks, and bumps of all kinds on it. I realize that its aftermarket but couldnt they at least make it look presentable. Now I'm gonna pay a few hundred extra to get it resurfaced. Anyone ever had a problem like this b4???

notify Suncoast right away and tell them it was damaged during shipping. UPS or Fed Ex should come back and pick it up for free and you won't need to pay to return ship it. you should either get a claim check from the shipping company or you should get a new hood w/o paying for more shipping, it depends on how Suncoast handles it i think.

Ur not the only one. I ordered a ram air hood from them also about a year ago or so, i payed $710 w/ shipping and i was expecting to get my money's worth, boy was i wrong!

Hood looked like cr@p, even the body shop guy couldnt believe it. There were a few scrathes in it, and underneith the hood it had glue all over that was never cleaned off. Plus he had to do A LOT of sanding and reforming to get the hood to look half way DECENT. I WOULD NEVER ORDER ANOTHER ONE FROM THEM. i couldnt believe it, very dissapointed, still am

Id order a new one but i havent had my car for awhile (5 weeks including the engine replacement  ) Do you think it would be possible to take photos of the damaged hood and make suncoast pay for the resurfacing? I know it wasnt damaged during shipping cause the whole thing was wrapped in bubble wrap and shipping couldnt have done those things on the hood (like the chipping of glue).

I must have been one of the lucky ones. My Suncoast creations Z-style hood came in just fine, without any cracks or scratches. I'm glad we didn't have to deal with the problems some of you are having. Its not cool when you pay so much money for something, and get crap in return.

i guess i was one of the lucky ones too, but i drove to Suncoast and picked up the hood myself. i only live about a half hour away so i was able to check it out in person and make sure it was in good shape. plus i saved on the shipping cost. =)

I figured that I'd spend the extra on the hood to get it resurfaced and in "proper" condition. Then get a statement from the auto body shop, along with photos, and make suncoast pay cause i had asked the guy when i ordered it and he said that its oem quality and ready to be primed and painted. Hopefully it will all work out.

i got the raptor hood from 'em... took two weeks to ship it, and it looked pretty rough when it got here. for that money, take charge and send it back, if you gotta wait a couple of weeks its worth saving the money and hassle of resurfacing.

I don't like Suncoast hoods, you gotta get their ghetto airbox in order to make it functional.

The body shop tried to fit the hood on the other day and the only way the thing would fit is if he put racing pins on the front and sanded down the left side cause it stuck up too much. So I returned the hood and supposedly got a full refund. The guy told me (body shop guy) that he had that problem with suncoast on a trans am awhile ago. Guess the companys hit or miss.

Next time if anyone wants to buy stuffs from internet companies, ask around first before burning your pocket and get some feedback from others, that will be the best way to shop around.
