The Camaro's rear tailight covers just snap into place. I'm not sure what car you are planning on to install the covers, but if it's for a camaro, there is no gluing or drilling required.
I had my tailight cover's in for about two months before, and my tailights are fine. I have heard of other guys here talking about their tailight housing melting, but I haven't experienced anything like that yet.
I've had my on for over a year and havent had any prob. I think it would depend on how long the lights are on for and how much and how long the sun hits them for.

I've had mine on for about a month on my camaro with no problems or melting issues. They just snapped into place over the old lights. I also added a few strips of velcro at the edges to create more contact points. Just a little more security of them staying on. Mine have no problems though, and they do add a lot to the car. I like em.

No melting here.. just flying off!! Over the past 6 years, I've lost 3 or 4 right side taillight covers  I had velcro on them holding them down. I guess I should've used double sided tape.
I bought my boyfriend a set of rear blackouts for his Z28 and about 2 months later he lost one too!! He's using double-sided tape and doesn't seem to have a problem now. Only thing is, they are there to stay now permanently.
Haven’t done anything on the Camaro, but put LEDs on my truck headlights . And my oil pressure sensor went out on the truck so going to fix that this...
