i was really confused over what i wanted to do whether i wanted some kind of altezzas or what have you....I decided to go with tailight covers. IM a litle sceptacle though b/c i heard some peoples taillights melted??!?!? Anyone know of this? Also if i did wanted them what kind would i get.. I dont want any that would ruin my stok taillamps..maybe something thAT snaps over them, no glueing on or whatever

    thanx

The Camaro's rear tailight covers just snap into place. I'm not sure what car you are planning on to install the covers, but if it's for a camaro, there is no gluing or drilling required.
I had my tailight cover's in for about two months before, and my tailights are fine. I have heard of other guys here talking about their tailight housing melting, but I haven't experienced anything like that yet.

I've had black outs for months and everything is fine. I never even heard of this BS 'melting' business..

My first pair of black outs got stolen
So the new ones I got, I screwed them in..can't tell the difference

After a year mine melted a little. Just a indentation on the brake light. You can't even notice if you don't take the cover off.

I've had my on for over a year and havent had any prob. I think it would depend on how long the lights are on for and how much and how long the sun hits them for.

I've had mine on for about a month on my camaro with no problems or melting issues. They just snapped into place over the old lights. I also added a few strips of velcro at the edges to create more contact points. Just a little more security of them staying on. Mine have no problems though, and they do add a lot to the car. No melting here.. just flying off!! Over the past 6 years, I've lost 3 or 4 right side taillight covers  I had velcro on them holding them down. I guess I should've used double sided tape.

I haven't had any problems with mine. I use mounting tape to hold them on.

I bought my boyfriend a set of rear blackouts for his Z28 and about 2 months later he lost one too!! He's using double-sided tape and doesn't seem to have a problem now. Only thing is, they are there to stay now permanently.
