How much was your tint?

I want to get my windows tinted soon and I was wondering how much I should expect to pay and what is a good price? Also, what did you get on the sides and the back, any pics? Thanks.

i paid $220 CAD + tax = $258 CAD for regular "charcol" tint (or whatever it's called--it's black) that's with a life-time warrenty.

i got 5% on the back, 35% on the sides...that's what's legal here, and i get enough attention from cops already. IMO 20% on the sides would be better. don't expect to see anything outta the back at night tho :D

btw--it cost $100 more for special tints, like colored or reflective tints.

I paid about $50 for the tint and windex with vinegar (dont use ammonia based windex) and got an almost perfect job on it at 2.5%... yep, its dark!

I did a 20% tint on the back and sides. looks great. except it looks kinda weird on the defroster, because it didn't stick well

came with a life time warranty.

$150 from an import shop ( i knew the guy that works there ) that price is discounted 10 or 15% though.

i paid 75 bucks to have my 12% put on my sides and rear... he did a damn good job too. had it for a year. no problems

I got 20% out back and on the sides. They only problem is, 35% is the legal limit here. They meter'd me the other day when i was trying to pass inspection. The meter read 8%. Choose wisely.

Thanks a lot for all the input. Camaro99, your tint job looks bad *** . Does anyone know any place in Southern Califronia that will do it for $100 or so? the cheapest I've found it $175. Also, has anyone apllied their tint themselves?

edit: also, what does tint look like on white camaros? mine is white and I haven't seen a white one yet with tint.

Okay, I just called a shop and I got him down to $110 and he does one piece on the back. Here's the thing, he told me that CA law says you cannot have tint on the front windows at all. I thought you could have it %35. Does anyone have any knowledge of CA law?

you can't have tint on your front windshield if that's what you mean....i asked about that too. cars just look like they have tint on the front windshield 'cause all the other windows are tinted & it makes the front windshield look dark.

reason they don't do it is 'cause if you're in an accident, the window is so strong (reinforced with tint) that it won't break when your head smashes against it. in other words, your head will take more of the impact then it should [img]smile.gif[/img]
