    Switching instrument cluster?

    Did a search, no luck. Anybody know if the dash guage cluster from a 2000+ Firebird would fit in my '96 Firebird? I'm not sure if there are any significant changes to the shape. And I'm not sure if the digital odometer will work in my car either. Does the dash itself keep record of the miles, or does it receive a signal from the PCM?

    And if I could switch out one with a V6, how about a V8? I saw this picture the other day and I'd really like to get something similar to it!! It might not be possible to get that exact one cause that is the one in a Blackbird. I know there are directions on how to swap out the tachometer from a V6 to V8 dash floating on the board somewhere, I just can't find them. Any help is appreciated.

    Damn, would you look at that, this got kicked out of general tech. This is not an apperance question, I'm not asking "how will this look?" I wanna know if it will work or how to modify it to work. Most people here ask what spoiler to get, or which hood looks better. Oh well. If I don't get any responses here I'm going to put it right back in Gen. Tech.

    Anybody tried switching the dash? problems, hints, something, anything?

      It won't work the guages are wired different.

        Wired differently how? specifics? When I get a chance I'm going to look at the wiring on the back of mine.
