  • Is there a way?

I think I posted this here before, but was wondering if anybody else had some ideas.

I was wondering if there is a way to change the hood on my firebird so that it would reverse open like the vettes and a couple other cars? Any ideas, or links to look at, would be really appreciated.

Common showcar mod. Look around for it. I am willing to bet it has been done on a 4th gen.

I have looked around, trust me. Never seen it on a 4th gen anywhere. I would love to though, if you find anything or have ideas where to look.

i would think this would be a really hard thing to do considering it would have to be setup where the hood comes to a point wouldnt it leaving the only place to connect it would be on the radiator support and i owuldnt think it would be strong enough to suport the weight of the hood. the only other place to do it would be on the fender wells but it seems there would be a problem with the point of the hood scraping against the front bumper. please explain how they are goingot do this i cant picture it in my mind

To be honest, I'm not quite sure yet. I talked to a guy about another project I am having done, and asked him about this. He told me to talk to another shop, and that he was sure they could do something like that. He said they are really good at customization.

I called them and the guy I need to talk to is gone for the week, so I have to call him again on Monday and see what he thinks.

it'd have to be like a viper...the front of the hood would lift up like 2-3", and then you'd reverse open the hood. so there wouldn't be any scraping.
