Anyone know about any website that talks about molding body kit using fiberglass? I finally decided to put my predator body kit on my car and I want to get it molded on there with fiberglass so it will look smooth. But I cant find any guide on fiberglassing body kits.
I know that there are some guides out there for molding body kit on import cars but I cant seem to find it on google. If you know any sites about molding body kits, please post!

i didnt know that. all i ever seen for "bodykits" are actually front and rear bumper cover replacements, with scoops and fins and whatever else kind of designs they make. its all pretty much the same. first youd have to sand all the paint off the area your going to be working on. then youd have to buy a lot of fiberglass... im talkin fiberglass in the gallons, and sheets galore of material. not to mention all the sanding material. and the paint job to blend it perfectly. if it sounds like im trying to discourage you, your right, i am. i would only recommend something like you want to someone building a show car, and not someone who drives it daily. one slight bump could very possibly create a crack in the fiberglass, then you have to do the whole thing over again. if you were to call up a few places in like performance audio and sound magazine, or super street magazine, they would tell you to ship your front and rear bumper covers, and sides so thet they can make a mold and ship you one whole piece. they would not just fiberglass the scoops and fins on because it would not last very long. they would either fall off, or would break off... and payin at least $3000 for them to make custom bumper covers is not my idea of a bargain. i do know of someone on here who has a yellow firebird that molded his wings west kit on, looks nice too, but i think it is just a show car. i wouldnt fiberglass it, i would just stick it on. ya, it looks cool as hell, but in the end with all the aggrivation and matinence, its just not worth it.

Well, the reason that I want to do this is because I'm planning on getting my whole car painted anyways. It got chips all over the paint from driving on the freeway and big scratches all over the side of the car (Damn little trees).
Since I'm getting my car painted, I thought, why not get it all molded on there? It would look sweet and it will be alot easier to clean and wax the car.
Dude please don't attempt to do something like that yourself. I'm not degrading your craftmanship or anything. But I work at a bodyshop and I see lots of cars that come in that attempt to do something like this, and it turns out horrible. Autobody shops do this everyday. And most autobody shops stand by their work with lifetime warranties.
u cant just buy common fiber glass. there is lots of different resigns u have to use. my dad did a repair on my bumper and didnt even use resign or glass sheets, i dont even this thats what our bumpers are made out of. if u attempt this at least find out what u need exactly first. because ur bumpers are a rubbery material and if u do the side skirts, the fender is a different material and ur quarter panel is metal then ur body kit is probable urithan. ur not gonna just pic up something at wall mart that will bond these serfaces like super glue that wont eventually crack or smooth our right. its just complicating if ur not educated enough.
