ok guys, a friend of mine thought it would be funny to do a swan dive onto th hood of my ride.(hes a big guy 230lbs) well i just had an estimate to fix it: 760.50 heh heh not so funny anymore huh? well i think i may just get an aftermarket hood instead of make hipay to fix it. why not take advantage of the situation? does anyone know about this brand?http://www.vfnfiberglass.com/932001camaro.htm
98-02 stingray pin on or bolt on. does anyone know if these are any good? would getting a pin on be stupid since i need to keep the price under 760 and get it painted also. well, if anyone knows somewhere else i can get a good price on a fiberglass hood, buy it, ship it, and paint it for under 760, that would be sweet!!! websites? anything!!
    thanx

Dude I don't want to see you waste your money, so please stay away from cheap aftermarket hoods. Being me, i'd always go with a genuine hood. I'm not sure what brands are reputable, but i know they're are some really low quality hoods and they will fit horrible. I've seen some with fender gaps so big I could change the spark plugs with the hood down, lol. So before you shell out that much cash and spend more for a bodyshop to repair it and make it fit. Do it right the first time. GOod luck dude!

If you are going to get an aftermarket hood, don't go with just any company. Stay with the big name hoods such as:

          http://www.americansportscardesigns....n_camaro.shtml
          http://www.slponline.com/view_produc...NUMBER=100000Z

I am sure you can find places that sell these hoods for less, but I would stick with the brand names because other hoods won't fit as well.

What is the Custom Insert on this hood?

It says "does not include custom insert shown" ..I've always wondered, is that the piece painted black? And do they make that hood with active ram-air?

                From the website you listed..

                http://www.vfnfiberglass.com/932001camaro.htm

'98-2002 Stingray Bolt On Hood. Price=465.00

That's the closest you are going to get to the 93-97 Big block hood.
