• Tires getting messed up by Wheel Wells

Well, since my last topic got locked before I could get any help, Im gonna go ahead and post it again and hope I get some help.

I bought a 95 Firebird that cmae with 17" x 9.5" Eagle Alloys. Problem is, the sides of the wheel well scrape against the tires and are taking chunks out of them. Right now I don't have much money to pay for expensive really nice rims, but I was looking for something decent and am looking for suggestions on those and some websites that sell them. I also wanted to know the dimensions of the stock 3800 wheels and any website that sells them too. And could someone tell me how big the width of the rim or wheel can be to fit the car would help too. Thanks for the help.

Oh, and you can find the wheels at www.eaglewheels.com, they are the 203's under 2 piece set. Please give me some help cuz no matter where I take it to, they tell me Ill need new wheels and right now I dont have the money to do that.

Sounds like the previous owner got the wrong backspacing on the wheels.... Your basically screwed b/c you need either narrower tires or new wheels and tires.

The stock wheels are 16x8.... They are plentiful on ebay. SLP sells firebird takeoff wheels for like 50 a peice or w/ tires for like 600

not locked... moved to suspension. Just like the last one:

This is not a "my wheels are all scuffed up" or "damn, my wheels look good" issue, its a "my wheels won't fit and its ticking me off" issue.

And I believe seep is right with everything he said. Backspacing on those is no good and youre going to need new wheels if you want them to work (and probably look) right.

As far as price goes, stock rims from slp are going to be the cheapest. You can get them for 200 a set i believe... but if you think about it, you are then going to need new tires. You might be better off buying a set of cheap 17's from eagle alloys. You can get their 17's for pretty cheap. I know a guy who can get you either 077's or 185's for 550 shipped. Then you'd allready have tires for them. Whichever way you go, good luck.
