There's that big ol' insulation matting on the underside of the hood used to deaden sound and heat the engine up faster... there's also a giant chevy logo on that matting, and I'd like to paint it.
Only part is I have no idea what I should use to do so. Anyone have any ideas?

I thought it was a fire mat designed to smother the engine if there was a fire :/ Heat up the engine faster?? I dont think it does that. But yea about the painting... I saw this on like 2 other cars on this board, one looked real good, the other one was fading. I'm sure you need to use some high temp paint, or at least a high temp clear coat

Everyone tells me something different, it could be for all those reasons. Refer to this post:
i like when the old muscle cars at car-shows have the underside of the hood as one big mirror. but i like the idea of painting the logos on the insulation thing too
They talk about what the matting is used for.. but anwyay, model paint huh? How long have you had it on your matting? Has it faded at all?

It has been about a year and a half, no fading. That pic was about after a year.
Check over on the Corvette forum (www.covetteforum.com). They have been painting the underhood liners for a long time.

Haven’t done anything on the Camaro, but put LEDs on my truck headlights . And my oil pressure sensor went out on the truck so going to fix that this...
