I have a '96 3.8L Camaro and it's coming time to replace the tires... so i'd figure i'd get some new rims as well. I've only seen pictures of 19" rims on 98+ f-bodies, never on previous models... will 19" rims even fit on my car?
if so, what are some brands that make 19" rims with 5-lug and the correct bolt patterns?
There was someone that posted a picture of a 93-97 camaro with 20s on the back and 19s on the front. The profile on the tires was really low. Rims that big are much too heavy for racing. If you plan on making your car speedy i'd stick to 17s at the most. I'm not sure about what brands you could go for though.

The guy with the the 19's and 20's goes by Chuckys95 on the Z28 board. His car is awesome. I don't have the link to his car domain site anymore or I'd post it for you, just check out CamaroZ28.com or car domain. You should be able to find it.
1999 Silverado- Bagged, colormatched and rollin on stock chrome 16\'s<br />Make love not war, hell do both, get married
Yeah that's the one all right. Not exactly my style, but not bad at all for not being my style
Any way if you're just going for look and don't care if you run 20 second 1/4 miles, get the biggest rims you can fit your wheel well. Otherwise, weight is a big issue when you start getting that big.

i'm really not sure if i'm going for performance or just appearances... i mean, even if i got new headers, intake, exhaust, cat etc. etc., would my car be faster than a stock z28?

Well, if you're WAY slower than a stock z28 with those mods and stock wheels, than you'll be another second and a half slower with the 19" wheels. (that's just a figure i pulled out of thin air, but you get the idea)

full exhaust/intake system won't bring you up to the big boys. It'll get you closer but you've got some work to do before you start closing the 1.9 liters of displacement that the z28s have on us.
