• New owner wanting opinions (stripes)

My first post :D . As of yesterday, I'm the proud new owner of a stock 96 Firebird SE. I dont like the color green on cars but I got a good deal on it. I'm thinking the first thing I want to do is add some vinyl stripes on it (dodge viper type) to bring it out more.

I found this site (scroll down the page a little bit) and am planning to get a complete stripe kit similar to that.... http://www.autografics.com/pages/birds4.htm

So my question is, what color do you like best on a green car. I made some quality samples below of orange and yellow....I'm torn between the two. Lastly have any of you had experience with vinyl decals? Do they really last several years?

    or....

or do they both look stupid

Both look stupid. Nothing matches the hunter green, teal, burgundy, dark or bright purple. Repaint to a neutral color, or leave it alone.

edit: of course you could always do black stripes...but thats debatable.

Don't do either of those colors. That would look terrible. White on green is ok, or maybe silver. That's a hard color to work with..I'd say white.

Yea I figured those color stripes wouldn't be everyone's cup of tea....But I think it would look pretty sharp in real life

I previewed black on it but it doesn't show up that well. White might be a good color though

Either that or I'll have to spend 10x more for new paintjob

I'd definitely say silver. Or maybe gold. I was gonna do silver on my dark green metallic, but I'm not keepin' the car...

the car's color is a dark green, so u wanna accent it with a light color. I'd say silver or white. a combo of a light and dark color contrast each other well.

                for example:

I have a white firebird. puting a light red, blue, orange, silver, ect wouldn't stand out as well. a black, maroon, midnight blue, pewter, burnt orange would contrast better.

Leave it green, its gorgeous as it is :D

Just polish it on up and make it shiney. Add some nicer wheels before you repaint it!!
