I have a question for anyone that knows about wings west ground effects. I am thinking about purchasing ground effects for my 2000 firebird. I was wondering if there were any problems installing them on a 2000 firebird. Thank you for your time. oh yeah this is my first message and day as a member.

I have the kit for the 93-97 installed on my car, but to be honest it wasn't exactly cheap to get them painted and installed... They're made of urethane, which is basically "rubber", and it took the shop 5 steps just to prime the material, and that's not even including painting. It turns that rubber into what feels and looks like fiberglass, which gives it that glossy look. Anyway, I just had mine put on, and I also had my front nose repainted, and the entire job costed me $847, but he let me have it done for $700 even because I know the guy. He said it took 6 hours just to paint the gfx, because of the kind of material they're made of, and something like 4 hours to install them. This wasn't a mod shop or anything, it's really just a body shop. Anyway, the paint job for the front bumper was something like $250, so when you do the math, it means that technically $500 was spent painting and installing the gfx, even though I got a good discount and everything. They said there was no problem putting them on, it just costed quite a bit more than I expected. I'm not saying it'll cost the same for you, but that's the only thing I would consider "difficult" about getting the gfx installed, meaning the bill. I'm not sure how you would do them yourself, as the prepping and painting is very complex for that kind of material, but you're free to try whatever you want now that you have an idea of how much it may cost. And by the way, welcome to the board.\"The Bird\" - \'95 Firebird (3.8), White<br />Suncoat Creations RamAir Predator hood with SC airbox, 30th Anniversary Ram Air-style stripes, Wings West W-Type ground effects, Last of the Breed Anniversary Emblems, Carsound High-Flow Cat, SLP Loudmouth Catback w/ 3.5\" slash-cut tips, and much more to come.

I've got the Wings West kit on my 2001 firebird. Really the only thing I had a problem with was the double-sided tape that came on them...I took it back to the body shop and they retaped it with some better tape and I haven't had a problem since. The driver's side rear bumper piece didn't exactly fit, but when i had the tape redone, it fit perfect. Like Firebird1055 said, it is expensive to have them painted and installed right. Good luck with them if you buy them.
