how do you remove the factory front license plate holder on a camaro?
how do you remove the factory front license plate holder on a camaro?
just got a billet grille for my z28 (I know this is a v6 board but I figured what the hell). This grille goes over the factory grille so I need to remove the license plate holder but I tried pulling it off and those screw things hold it in very tightly. Any suggestions?
It's been a while since I took mine off but I could have swore the screws just unscrew. Guess not though. One thing you might want to try is just removing the whole stock grill since you aren't really gonna see it unless your right infront of it. For that just pull the damn thing out. Since your car is silver I think having no grille underneath would look better any ways. Just my opinion though.
I thought you HAD to remove the stock grill to put a billet one on? Never knew they mounted over it... But as for the license plate, just rip the b|tch off, that's how I got mine off. The screws don't just unscrew, so you just have to pull on it hard enough.
www.wee1.com has one that mounts over top of it. You can see a pic of it I took since I haven't mounted it yet at www.aodclan.com/z28
unscrew your license plate
there will be 2 holes under where the plate was....take a correct size allen wrench and turn them counter clockwise until you can pull the piece off.......don't go yanking it, you'll strip threads.....

I got mine from wee1 off ebay for $60 . I had to rip my license plate bracket off and I can't put the grille on until I have somebody help me to hold it up while I run the ties. What aroyal pain in th eass. It took a lot of strength to pull that plate holder off and I'm a pretty strong guy. :D
i need to find out how to mount my plate to the grille also any help?
