after looking at your TTop job, I'm going to also attempt this! whoohoo!
Do you have the link to the page of where all the instructions are on this? Also, I could use any usefull info from you
saw your page, awesome job man!
-Steve
I'm going to writeup a set of instructions here today while I'm at work and not buzy. It may take me a little longer depending on how buzy I get here today, and I'll post it when I'm done.
Good luck, man! I'm just an e-mail away if you have any questions, or you can ICQ, AIM or MSN me as needed. I'm on all 3 all day while at work and alot of the time at home.
Would you say the work is harder/easier/same as doing a job say like headers?
how long did it take you?
when you take the ttops off, what it looks like on the Tbar, is that what it looks like stock?
thanks
-Steve
I'd say the work is alot easier than a job like headers. The only reason I swore during the t-top project is becuase I kept misplacing tools. When I put headers in my truck last summer I swore like a sailor becuase it was so hard to get access to and reach everything and was a major PITA. This job takes longer, but is extremely straight forward. I'd estimate I've put close to 20 hours into it so far, and have another 3-5 more in store for the finishing touches.
When finished it will look 100% stock. In those pictures, that is what it will look like when finished (and thats what it looks like stock), except the bar and surrounding areas will be painted to match the color of the car, just like stock. The black stripe remains black and is the rail which holds the tops down in the center, and the white stripe on the back is masking tape and will be removed when finished. Inside, it also looks 100% stock. The rear plastic caps are on their way from Speed Automotive, and that will trim up the interior to be completely OEM looking.
can you take some more pics of it with the tops off, more around the area where the cuts are? I'm trying to get a good look at what the ends look like all finished up
