i'm researching fiberglass hood/carbon fiber hood replacements and frankly they're very interesting...my only concerns are durability and safety...anyone ever hear of one flying off going down the high way or sagging under its own weight? any info will be greatly appreciated.

realize that the weight you lose will probably not increase performance one bit.
However, they are both durable (esp carbon fiber, but I don't know of any carbon fiber hoods for the firebird/camaro) and you won't have a problem w/ them flying off.
