cost for 17s?

Hey, I know to switch from the stock 16s to 17s you need new tires and also to change certain things like speedometer, etc. What is the total cost on an upgrade to 17s?

to 17's of what style? and what finish? chrome? chrome is substancially more than pollished. Also you need to take into account of tires.. they'll normally run around $90 a tire. Speedometer... don't think you have to do much with that

my 17" chrome ws6 rims ran me $899, the tires were another $800. you don't need to do anything to the speedo as long as you get the right tire ratio, 275/40

im gettin Eagel alloy's polished alum 18 type 077's and will be wrapping in 255/40/18's, i think..
not sure on the rubber yet..

but this will be done within a few months ( gunna get the rims first, then put them on beggining of summer)

so what can I expect to pay for a decent set of tires? Not looking for track quality or anything, just mid-range.

You can get some really sweet Firestone Firehawks for about $400 installed. They're great for traction and they have a really aggresive tread. I'm having them installed on mine here in a week or so.

you can get around $80 for some cheap tires.. but expect around $100 for good ones... I'd go for the extra 80 bucks... it really makes a big difference.
