• Best Wax???

SO whats the best brand of wax/ polish...

ive used the meguiars gold class wax and was satisfied at first..very nice shine but the wax would not last very long..ex..you know that just waxed feeling where the paint is very smooth..well after a week and then a good washing i run my fingers over the paint and i hear "sccccrrrrrreeeeechhh" like its never been waxed before!!! SO WTF..is it coming off or whats the deal..waxing a car is not complicated and i do it right but ive come to the conclusions that this stuff must be applied after every wash..and i dont have the time to do that..

So whats the best "Walmart" Wax..what i mean by that is can be bought at walmart or other automotive places..

Jeff W

IM LOOKING FOR HONEST ANSWERS: will zaino give me that just waxed feeling all the time with out having to apply the Z whatever number it is after every wash???

Please be honest!!

Zaino.
And it is a polish, not a wax. It lasts through anything (rain, washes, 120+ mph runs :D ), and I know from experience ;)
If you wanna know more about Zaino, post in here, make a new topic, email me or LadyFirebird, we'll get you the info you need.

I agree with The Sandman. it is a little more expensive than most waxes and polishes, but it lasts through everything. I have used it on my car, and I won't use anything else. It is definatly the best out there thatI can find!!!
A bunch of fast stuff.....

I use Mothers wax for my car. I really like it and will continue to buy their products. I have used Meguiars wax and Meguiars polish, and I wasn't really satisfied, in my opinion, Mothers is a lot better than Meguiars.

Zaino may be great, but its too expensive for me. After shipping, it's over $15 a bottle, and not only that, but I hear that you have to buy multiple kinds of Zaino for it to work it's best.

By the way, if you wax your car often, I'd recommend getting an electric waxer for your car. I got one for Christmas and it saves so much time!!

Zaino is the best stuff I have ever used. I get complements on my car all the time now that I use Zaino. It amazing how much better the car looks now after a few coats, and I cant wait to get time to put on even more. Its well worth the money and time that is needed to make it all work correctly. I bought it months ago and have used it like directed just about every wash. I still have plently of polish left. The only thing I am running out of is the gloss enhancer spray, which is very addicting. I feel like I am a professional detailer using this stuff. It definitly makes a difference and last a very long time.

Dude you were informed completely incorrect. Whoever told you this is an.....well...they're not smart. Anyways.

Mothers wax is the best "wax" I ever used but it can't touch Zaino. But you can continue being stubborn if you want, it's your car.

I must say though, Ive put my car right up next to some Zaino'd cars and nobody could tell a difference .

Zaino without a doubt. It's not that expensive considering it's a great product and the shine is incredible... and best of all, it is very durable. The shine will last a very long time and water will continue to bead on the car even after a month after the intial polish. Also, you use a very small amount each time that one bottle will go a long ways.

Zaino Website

Goodluck :D

Good point Jen
I get about 12 coats from each bottle but I'm only just now (near the end of my Z2 bottle) figuring out 'just that right' way of putting it on. You're supposed to get 15-16 coats from each bottle! :D So do a little math. I used to get 3-4 coats out of regular old wax. Costs about 5 bucks a bottle.
To do 16 coats of wax, would cost me over 20 bucks.
Just one bottle of Zaino (Z2) costs 10 bucks.
Not only do you get more applications like Jen said, you get better protection, the paint is slicker and has more UV protection. And you obviously a better shine because of the way that Zaino is designed to be layered. With each layer you get a brighter shine and the paint looks deeper and deeper.

Did I miss anything else Jen ;)

For 10 years of experience waxing both cars this is how I ranked them (Zaino not included)

1. 3M's swirl remover and wax.
2. Eagle polisher
3. RainX
4. Meguirs gold class
5. Turtle wax

3M is the best one I have ever used.

3M does make good products, but the Swirl Remover you're talking about is an abrasive product. So don't put it in any regular waxing routine.
Zaino is still better however ;)

ZAINO!!! It's the best stuff on the planet, I think!! I used to a Meguiar's fan, but then I gave in to the peer pressure and bought a full Zaino kit. It's SO MUCH BETTER than anything else I've ever tried!!

My car has never looked so good!!

zaino all the way

i only bought about $41 worth, got z-1, z2, and z-6
claybar isnt necessary but helps alot

and ive gotten 5 coats of z-2 and 2 of z-1 and still have about 80%+ left in each bottle

its alot better in the long run and lasts along time but it requires an upfront sum of money
but its worth it

see cardinal i can get the same results as you but its a PITA. if i wax every week my car looks bad *** and smooth as glass but if i skip a week of wax its like ive never waxed it before....im lookin really for the shine like the GC but far superior durability and ease of application..we all know that the GC is very greasy and smears very easy...

i guess i want the Zaino and the money is really a big deal but i just want to make sure that i get the right produsts for my needs so im going to list the ones i want and Sandman and Jen can tell me if im accurate

Z1 the polish stuff
Z2 the CC protection stuff X 2 (if i like this stuff i will go through alot of it)
Z6 Spray stuff---enhances the shine

i already have a new claybar from mothers and i love that product

What am I not correct about? If you are going to tell me that I'm completely wrong, how about helping me out by telling me what is right.

It can't be about the price, I said over $15 with shipping, and if you want to be exact, then it is $19.90.

If you are talking about the part where I say you need multiple kinds of Zaino products for it to work best, I've heard that over and over from people on message boards. But don't trust them, let me quote exactly from Zaino's FAQ page:

quote:
Quoted from Zaino's FAQ page:
Q: I have never used Zaino. Which products should I order?

A: ... For clear coated vehicles, I'd suggest ordering one each of Zaino Z-1 Polish Lok, Z-2 Show Car Polish for clear coats, Z-5 for Swirls, Z-6 "Gloss Enhancer" spray and Z-7 Car Wash. For non clear coated vehicles, just substitute Z-3 Show Car Polish for regular paints in place of the Z-2 Show Car Polish.

That is what I am talking about when I said that you need to order more than just one Zaino product.

quote:
Originally posted by The Sandman:

I never said anything about which is better, Mothers or Zaino, I just stated my opinion based on my experience. Also noticed the original post mentioned he wanted to know about brands that you could buy in an auto store, which is what I told him about.

quote:
Originally posted by The Sandman:

Again, if I said something wrong, please correct me so I can learn rather than just being called stubborn. I don't understand how I am being stubborn because I am using a different wax than the one you use.
