  • Window tinting....special kind?

Hey, one of my friends was telling me about a special kind of of window tinting. He called it "Dip Tinting" where they actually take your windows and dip it in there instead of putting a film on, that way its permanent and say for example you get pulled over , the cops cant really do much about it being too dark. Is this something that is actually out there, are there any websites about it, and does it have any other name

but back to topic, never heard of it, but should lbe good if you never drive the car into an area where the tint is darker than law allows.

Sounds something similar to factory tinting. My mom has tinting like that on her windows, there's no 'film' its like the window is permantly tinted. It's probably much $$ considering they have to take the door off to get the windows out. It's probably something you'd have to have the dealership do, if they even do it.

Actually, the more I think about it, I think factory tint is tint film sandwiched between two layers of glass. So I don't know what the hell he's talking about.

Speedemon - I think you are right about it being sandwhiched in the glass.

I have heard of spray tint before, People use it to make headlight black outs if they can't just buy blackouts. My friend used black spray paint, that was...umm....not at all smart, even dumber I bought the car from him (Cutlass not my Camaro).
