Have you ever seen the party favors that has LED lights on it and when you spinn it around it prints a word in mid air like Happy New Year or something? Well I was thinking of makeing some rims like this. Well not make the rims more so incorporate the LED components into already made rims. What do you think.

yah ive seen those and i personally think they're dumb, just another thing to distract other drivers. or if its for show, i think the lights just look tacky. but some1 out there's bound to like em. what it sounds like ur trying to do is make that car underglow except in ur wheel well. i dunno, try it out and update us with pics.

I've never seen hubcaps, but there was something someone made to bolt to your wheels with LEDs that you could customize... they won't go too far, since show cars sit still and not too many are going to waste their time buying them for street cars...

Wouldn't it take like a small computer mounted under the car to do that? Because the speed you are going is going to determin where the led's will be possitioned at a certain time. So I would assume changing 1 mile per hour would turn it into just a blur of light.

It could probably be contained within the unit, but I'm not entirely sure...

Actually thats not it. The result of what im trying to do will make words or shapes or what not display in thin air right in front of each wheel.

The computer would fit under the center cap. They would be useless for show cars cuz tha car has to be moving for the effect. And i thought the whole idea or fancying up your car was to distract others and make them look at your car. Personally i think its less distracting than some moron rolling down the street listing to 1500 watts of base thump.

</font>[/QUOTE]i dont take my eyes off of the road when i see a car with loud music. but i do take my eyes off the road trying to read a message on someones tires going 50 mph.

it is a horrible idea, and would likely be outlawed REALLY quick.

I wouldnt waste your money trying to do it.

o you actually do want to make words and stuff, well alright. but i just get REALLY annoyed at loud bass thump with a vibrating car, dont look over, and be on my way. but thoes words i think would be like how sometimes i see tvs in the head rest of suvs playing a movie-i remember to watch the road but sometimes i notice people watching the movie while driving and glancing back and forth from the road and movie.
