• Budget rims

OK, I am a highschool student and who knows when my parents will let me get a job...BUT I am looking for some nice, low budget rims. I don't really want to spend more on the rims than I spend on my exhaust system(600ish). So, any help would be appreciated.

If you want some cheap rims your best bet is probably to look for some used Eagle 077s. Granted the 077's are getting very over used in the aftermarket community. If you want that old school look you might try some WELD wheels like they sell in Summit.

Junkyard rims You can get a set of used wheels that are in good shape for cheap. Thats where I am getting my C5 rims from ;)

If you dont want to spend that much then do what i did and go with the stock 5 spoke chrome rims.

I like them because it doesnt attract so much attention as some 18's would, which would attract theives. But yet at the same time they look good. Just my 2 pennies.

Your best bet is to watch Ebay and try to find a local seller so that you won't have to pay for shipping. Or find some for sale on the board and buy those.

Dude unless you get 16s and re-use your existing tires your not going to get a deal like that. If you get 17s and up, I don't care what you do if your getting new tires your gonna be looking at atleast 400 bucks for tires. And thats cheap *** tires from tirerack. (not that all their tires are cheap). You might be able to find a set of used rims but make sure they aren't damaged in anyway, you don't want to have a wheel that can't be balanced. Thats why it is usually a good idea to buy new wheels. ANd after your all done, ask yourself is it really worth it to spend $600+ bucks on something your not really going to want down the road. Is it so much to save up a few more hundred dollars and get something better? I'd reconsider the situation man.

This is the best deal you will find. If you've got the money, jump on it. Tires alone are worth the asking price.

that deal for the chrome zr1s isn't bad... I woudl look local, shippin is usually abotu $25 a wheel with tires I think its more.

check out AFS wheels on ebay, they seem to be popular selling stock knock offs of y2ks, zr1s, z06s...

I got my rims for $400 locally, but I liked them and they were original GM wheels, that had less then 20k on them, my tires from tirerack were $472 shipped($107 a tire, about $45 shipping total, but I got a bit wider tires.

I reccomend checking local tireshops for a certain tire, then chekcing tirerack. I looked online for kuhmo victoracers found them for $135 a tires, went to local tire store and found them for $137, those were worth getting locally and not paying shipping.

THen I looked for Kuhmo 712s, 275/40/17 and found them locally for $142, $151, $138 locally, I got them online for $107, but had to pay shipping... either way even with shipping I saved ~$80 buying them online over buying the $138 ones locally.

YOu coulc buy the rims, and hold on to them a bit until you get more cash for tires... its what I did, also zainoed the piss out of them while I waited(definitely worth while they are a breeze to clean now)

                              some differences

btw I like my rims, I think they stick out over a generic Camaro, but do not look too flashy, a look I like.
