• Taking off stock gfx...for Firehawk replica!!

I'm thinking about making my car into a Formula Firehawk replica because I think they were the most beautiful of all the 4th gen f-bodies. Problem lies in just a few minor things...

    1. 3800 Series II V6...simple solution IT'S GOTTA GO!! Going to swap it with a used LS1 and T56 ASAP!

    2. Stock Option Chrome 16" Five Spokes...replacing them with chrome Firehawks!

    3. Stock hood, replacing with Suncoast Raptor since it's almost exactly the same as the Firehawk hood, also getting heat extractors and airbox.

    4. Stock Aero Ground Effects...I guess I'll have to take them off. But aren't they bolted and glued onto the bottom of my car? Would it take a lot of work to patch up the ugliness left behind once I took them off? I never really liked the front ones that much anyways other than it makes the car look like its lowered. Any help from people who have added/deleted gfx would be awesome!

Sweet that would make more sense, but that sucks that they sell all those parts separate like that. And I need ALL of them?! Whew thats an expensive hood at almost $1350 unpainted! But I'll put it into consideration at least, I appreciate the info.

formual hawks, are just that, a formula, that had the hawk conversion...

also, all the 97 LT4 firehawks, were Formula Hawks.

              sweet looking cars.

I'm having trouble finding the badging for the Firehawk too. I know I need at least the door decals, the rear bumper decal and the front nose badge. Oh and the centercaps for the wheels. Do you have any part numbers for those?

As for the 10th anniversary hawk, nah I don't like gold on firebirds at all, its a little too bling bling for my tastes.

And yes the Formula Firehawk is real, but the rarest of all 4th Gen Firebirds!

center caps are hard to find ;)

I know where to look, (my closet) as i have a set. I think they are only available if you purchase the rims with them. But i could be wrong.

I found my set on ls1.com, but sorry, they are not for sale.

In all honesty, I think it'd be cheaper to buy a Firehawk then trying to make a replica one.

Ofcourse it's your choice, but I'd see more sense in owning a TRUE Hawk that will have resale value after you're done with it.

I'm not interested in resale value as I will never sell my Firebird so long as there are no new models to replace it! 2002 Firehawks are still worth well over 25k, doesn't sound cheaper to me! Besides by the time I can afford that my car will be worth squat while the hawk will be worth even more because it's a collectors item. So I'm happy just slowly converting my car into a Firehawk replica. When I'm done it will take a very Firebird knowledgable person to distinguish my car from a real Firehawk. Although mine won't be a stock Firehawk, cuz headers and true duals kinda take you away from that stock look/sound don't they? :D

Oh and I might be taking off my gfx very soon. I've done some minor damage to them and to me its not work fixing if I'm just going to take them off later anyways. I'll let you know if I do take them off though, and about the condition of them from my little scuff up.
