Im thinking
1. sand the rims to roughen them up.
2. put a coat of primer on.
3. put a few coats of gunmetal color duplicolor paint.
4. finish with some clear coat.
do i need the primer on the wheels?

my friend spraypainted his wheels, but his car is a piece of sh*t 80's nova.
i really really wouldnt paint my own wheels, i would instead get them powdercoated.
I guess I\'d have answer your question with another question.

How many Abidiginals do you see in modeling??????

headers, 3inch magnaflow cat, Loudmouth
99 Midnight Blue Firebird
3.8L A4
You've got salad shooters don't you? I'm not to sure about painting salad shooters. If you only did one wheel those are cheap enough to buy, shipping will be your biggest enemy. Since the wheel is screwed see how paint would work. I wouldn't skimp on anything since wheels can take some abuse
use a good paint stripper to get the clearcoat off, sand with about 600 grit sandpaper, then go to 1500 grit to smooth out the finish.
*Remember- when it comes to painting, a few light coats are alot better than one heavy coat.
After sanding, get a coat of primer on them, then go with a few coats of duplicolor to get a nice even coverage. The paint will have a flat finish when it dries on-top of the primer, but don't worry, the clearcoat will make them shine like new.
Wait for each paint to dry before applying the next. If you get a run in the paint, sand it down with 1500 grit when it dries, and re-apply another light coat of paint.
This takes awhile to do, but the final outcome will be awesome!
Find someone who knows someone who has a roomate who's uncle can powdercoat for cheap. C'mon, you have to know SOMEONE who can hook you up? I can get my wheels done for $75 per wheel. If you don't have the money, wait till you do. Impatience is the worse thing that can happen to your car (or anything for that matter).

its possible. domestic violence tried it.
it just takes a TON of sanding, time and patience.
