  • How Can I make this look better?

The front clip on my car looks kinda crappy. It was like this when I bought the car and I'm really getting tired of looking at the hyper-bug hits all over it. Here are some pics of what I am talking about. Would claybar help this or is it going to have to just be repainted? BTW these pictures were taken 1 day after I did the 3 step meguires process so even that didn't seem to help a lot.
    Thanks for any help

you might try touch up paint, I think it will do good if you do it right by smoothing it in with the car's paint, and repainting it might make it worse since your car is a 95 cuz the new paint might be too glossy. I think as long as you can somehow make the white spots blue then I bet it whouldn't look to bad, maybe even try a blue marker to kind of mark over the white part to see how it will look assuming that the white parts are chips right? You might even wanna make sure that its not wax build up in the chips, getting rid of the wax itself might help alot too.

i have the same problem with my front end and it's only a 99. went to a shop and they said whole front clip needed to be repainted at about $400, but i'm not sure if i wanna drop that much just yet. the acid from the bugs eats straight to the bare metal and totally frigged my car up.

When I had my 97 silver camaro I used bug and tar remover and it did a really good job getting all the little spots off that you have to scrub for days on to get off. You should try this before repaintng! It works pretty well.

I've been told that finding a crayon close to the same color can help temporarily if you rub it in the scratches, and buff it out till there is no more wax on the surounding paint, but I can't immagine that doing this would last very long.

Try using WD-40 and Meguiars Scratch-X to get it off. The WD-40 will get all the goo off, and once thats all gone the scratchX will really help the finish - youd be amazed what it can do for only $7/bottle @ Walmart :D . Hell I buffed my friend's black Daytona with it and brought the finish back to life.

Then wax it or polish it and be happy, its a lot cheaper and will make you feel better about your car.

if all else fails... wet sand it with 2000 grit sand paper, but be very very careful, its easy to go through your clear coat. Follow that with some Presta Chroma 2000, you can buy that at a auto body supply shop.....this will make your finish look like new....but you can only do it once. Be careful!
