  • Getting some new rims!

I'm about to buy some Torq Thrust II's off someone for my car. Finally decided to get these, I've been wanting them since I got the car. 17 x 10.5 in the back and 17 x 9's up front. With almost brand new tires for $1200, might talk him down a little more too. Getting a rear end out of a 95 Z28 put in also to get rid of the drum brakes. I haven't been excited about this car since I first bought it. I am looking for leather interior and possibly a new paint job in the future and this thing will be looking good again!

Just had to share my excitement for the new rear and new rims I'll be getting! :D

        You think they'll rub?

These are the sizes on the tires

          Fronts: 275-40-17

          Rears: 315-35-17

Will the rears be too wide? Or if they fit do you think they will stick out too much?

Does anyone have a pic of their car with 17 x 11's with 315-35-17's? I tried searching for a pic but couldn't find one.

Thanks for the info and the link. I hope the rims look good on there. I am getting them this weekend so If I can get some pics I'll post them up next week. The new rear end won't be on until late September though, so I'll have to deal with the rims with drum brakes for a month. Here's a before pic though, hopefully next week I'll have some after pics.

The fronts are only 17 x 9, I'm not too worried about that rubbing. If it does I can work with that. I was worried mainly about the rear tires being too wide and looking ridiculous on there. But after seeing the link that loser put up, I think it'll look damn good!

                            I have 275s all 4 corners...

fronts don't rub but its a close fit while turning. A mallet might not work, since they look to rub the wheel well.

My rears, I have never heard them rub, but when I go in the rear there is a spot where the undercoating got rubbed off from rubbing. Might be from autocrossing, and tires being "forced" to the side.

Either way I am confident enough I think my next set of tires might be 285s.

Got the rims and put them on yesterday. There is a little rubbing with the rear tires when I take a quick left turn. Nothing I can't fix though. Man, the car looks a hundred times better (meaner) with these rims. I've had so many people staring and pointing, just in the last 24 hours since they were put on. Never got that before with the stock rims/tires. I'll post some pics later this week.
