It looks different for sure, but I wouldn't call it rice. IMO the wheels look pretty sweet.

Is it just me or do the front wheels look like they have some camber adjustments?

I wouldn't complain if I owned a car like that. I'm not sure I like the turn downs on the spoiler but I wouldn't go so far as to call the car unattractive.

I like the wheels mostly because they aren't the standard chrome all over kind that everyone seems to put on their cars. I remember when 4th gen Camaros came out and Coca Cola had the promotion to win a new Camaro they put up a 1:1 plastic replica of the chrome 5 spoke rims. Whenever I see the chrome 5 spokes now I think of those plastic wheels.

I wish people would stop throwing the term rice and ricer around to describe unattractive cars. I hate to break it to those who use it but the term originally had nothing to do with modification at all. If your car was powered by a Japanese motor or came off the assembly line in Japan it was jokingly assumed that the car ran off of rice. EVERYBODY who drove a Honda, Mitsubishi, etc. at the track, stock or heavily modded out was a ricer. "But they are the ones who came up with cheesy modifications." Wrong again. I guess most people are too young to remember curb feelers and wheels that stuck out two feet from the fenders. People forget all about the shag carpet on the dashboard and the little chain steering wheels that went on AMERICAN cars. Cheesy modifications have been around pretty much since cars have been on the road. Why is it that the imports get the bad image? I've seen some pretty slick Japanese cars on the road that outdo a lot of the current American designs. And why for this car? Because of the aftermarket spoiler? Because of the aftermarket rims? Because of the body kit? Oh yeah, because no self respecting F-Body owner would EVER change any of those things out. Just because you see rims or a spoiler or a body kit you don't like doesn't make the car worthy of a smackdown. There are things some of you do to your cars I don't like either but I'm not going to dis on them.

Anyways, back on topic. To me, this car isn't to die for until I see how it performs. Engine size alone won't do much for me. If the car handles well, pulls well and smokes the competition then I will make my judgement. Until then, it's just a pretty nice looking car.

I'm thinking about finding a new site to post on. People like fbody3400 have nothing better to do but wear out the word rice.

Hahah yeah, or the antennas people put on the car to make it look like they had a cell phone in it.

I think he's more referring to my post but that's ok... I didn't expect everyone to love what I said. I'm not interested in bashing everyone over the head to make them change their mind. I'm simply providing information to those who want it. There are some who like to use words and phrases that they know the meanings of, while others frantically grab at the most common phrases correct or not to try and bash another person. I know where the term came from because I was around the tracks during the start of the import craze. If any kind of crack was being made, it was referring to the make of the car.... not how well or poorly modded it was.
However, since most guys with imports that visited the track were heavily modding their cars the term rice started becoming incorrectly identified with Altezzas, neon lighting, aluminum wings, body kits, etc.
But no matter how you break it down the plain and simple fact is that those who use the term rice especially in reference to an American car are using the lowest dirtiest phrase they know how to just to make the person with the car feel as low as they can. To me, that's pretty childish and sick. I don't know what is wrong with simply stating "It's not my style" but I guess it makes others feel bigger to beat up on someone to some extent. Sure, some trash is talked at the track but the group I hung out around never used it to make anyone go home with low spirits or fighting mad. It was always used with people you were going head to head with as a psychological distraction. Anyone I talked trash to at a track was someone I'd willingly take to the bar afterwards for a drink or two. And the race always ended win or lose with the offer of a handshake.
Personally I've got better things to do and to pride myself on than who I was able to "beat up on" on the message board. I've achieved better things than most popular on a message board and have no desire to even start for something as meaningless as that. We all own F-Bodies. As human beings we all have different tastes. Some respect that and some don't. I'm just letting everyone know my individual thoughts on the matter so that they can freely choose how they want to act towards one another.
